Mumbai, Chennai, New Delhi, Kolkata and Pune are listed 2016 Mastercard Global Destinations Index as 27, 30, 48, 62, 91 respectively ranked from 100 cities which is derived from 132 most visited cities all over the world.
About this index
The Mastercard Global Destinations Cities Index ranks 132 most visited cities around the world, and focuses on visitor volume and spending estimates to understand how people travel and spend around the world.
It also looks at the total number of international overnight visitor arrivals and cross border spending by these visitors, to give visitor and passenger growth forecast.
MISS UNITED CONTINENTS – SECOND RUNNERUP FROM INDIA
India’s Lopamudra Raut, an electrical engineer, is second runner-up in miss united continents 2016 during the competition in Guayaquil, Ecuador.
She also won the “Best National Costume” award continuously 3 times in this Miss United Continents event.

World Federation of the Deaf (WFD), Every year celebrated the september last week is the international week of the Deaf community and also last Sunday of the September is celebrated as the World Deaf Day.

FIRST JESSE OWENS SPIRIT AWARD GOES TO MUHAMMED ALI
Late Muhammed ali will get Jesse Owens Olympic Spirit Award 2016 for his four time world championship.
About this Award:
This award was started this year in the memory of 80th anniversary of Owens’s four gold medal performance at the 1936 Olympics in Berlin.
The award is to be annually to recognize people who have served as an inspiration in society.
NATIIONAL MISSION ON BIOECONOMY
The Institute of Bio-resources & Sustainable Development (IBSD), under the minister of science and technology in Shillong launched the National Mission on Bioeconomy.
About this mission:
The mission aims to boost rural economy by utilising bio-resources.
The mission focuses on sustainable utilization of renewable biological resources through knowledge-based approaches.
Understanding mechanisms and processes of biotechnology and applying it to improving industrial processes. This is called bioeconomy.
